This past weekend, I had a shoot with a brand new team! That in itself is something different for me since I tend to shoot with the same people over and over again, and in the same styles too..
This shoot was not only with a new team, but it was in a style that completely took me out of my usual comfort zone!
Photographer: Paul Brutal
MUA: Painkiller Penny
Hair: Marie-Helene Moccia
Styling: JC Zakrzewsky
We put colorful extensions in my hair, instense makeup (including black lipstick!) on my face, and I got to wear clothes with more of an edgy punk rock feel - definitely WAAAAAAAY different than my standard pinup and boudoir looks
I just received the photos and we may even try to submit some of them for magazine publication! I promise they'll blow you away and you'll really be able to see how much fun we had and how much effort went into creating them.
(Highlight of the shoot for me: Having the photographer tell me I was great to work with since he didn't need to give me any direction. YAY!)
Have YOU tried anything new lately? What have YOU done to step outside your comfort zone?
Let me know in the comments section!

I posted something recently on my personal facebook that seemed to really resonate with others so I figured I would write about it some more:
"Sometimes following your goals and dreams can be a very lonely place. I guess the important thing to remember is quality over quantity!"
I may have a ton of fans on my modeling page, and a ton of facebook friends, but those are just numbers. Internet numbers don't represent the true friends you have or the real support system that surrounds you. I don't talk about this often, or at all, but I lost a very dear friendship to me in the past year and I know it's directly related to me choosing to pursue my dreams and my passions.
I suppose it's not always easy to balance new interests, goals, and dreams with the interests and opinions of other people. Ultimately, no one else's opinions should matter on those topics but your own, but, it's certainly difficult to remember that statement when the feedback and comments given are more malicious than constructive. Needless to say, over time, this killed a beautiful friendship.
I'm not going to use this post to lament that loss, but rather to reach out to any one else out there that is in a similar predicament... You are NOT doing this alone. Follow those dreams! Pursue those goals! If a friend can't be supportive of what you're trying to achieve, or can't keep back hurtful and insulting comments, then maybe they aren't really as good of a friend as they claim to be. The feeling of success, and the joy you'll share with those who stuck around is worth it in the end, I promise
